Mildred C. Rich's Obituary
Mrs. Mildred C. Rich, age 92, passed away Sunday March 15, 2015 in Muskegon. Mrs. Rich was born on October 16, 1922 to James and Jennie (Rink) Kubitza, in Staples, MN. On July 10, 1948 Mildred married Vernon F. Rich in Allegan, MI, and he preceded Mildred in death on May 28, 2011 after 62 years of marriage. Mildred graduated from St. Elizabeth School for Nursing in 1947 and earned her degree as a Registered Nurse. She was a long time member of TOPS, and former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Muskegon, MI for 46 years where she was very active in their Women’s Guild. Mildred has since been a faithful member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. SURVIVORS include 9 children, Eileen Miller of Grand Rapids, John (Victoria) Rich of Muskegon, Cheryl (Frank) Blackmer of Muskegon, Theresa (John) Vaughn of Florence, AL, Vern (Mary) Rich of Muskegon, Sandra Rich of Jackson, MI, Mark (Minda) Rich of Las Vegas, Brian (Debbie) Rich of Limerick, PA, and Dennis (Karen) Rich of Muskegon; 25 grandchildren; 18+ great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; 1 great great great grandson; and sister, Betty (Basil) Ringler of Cedar Springs. Millie was also preceded in death by 6 brothers, Fritz Kubitza, Ivan Kubitza, Theodore Kubitza, Ralph Kubitza, and Henry Kubitza; and 1 sister, Martha Northrup. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 10 AM Friday, March 20 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Matt Barnum presiding. VISITATION with Mildred’s family will be 6-8 PM Thursday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 with the Rosary being prayed at 7:30PM. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions in Mildred’s name to Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church will be appreciated.
