Milton W. "Mike" Voorhies' Obituary
Milton William "Mike" Voorhies, age 93, of Norton Shores, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021. He was born on March 5, 1928 in Muskegon Hts., MI to John Voorhies and Dorothy Simon. He married Harriet Indgjer in 1973. Mike served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. During his lifetime, he worked several jobs including Sanitary Dairy, Ott Chemical, Story Chemical, and Lorin Industries. He retired from Lorin Industries. Mike was one of the founders of the Churchill Athletic Association that provided sports programs for the kids in Norton Shores. His hobbies were gardening, canning, and having the best-looking grass in the neighborhood. He is survived by his wife, Harriet; his children: Mike (Deborah) Voorhies, Patricia (Jeffery) Kmiecik, Chris Voorhies, and John (Marisa) Voorhies. His step-children: James (Pat) Indgjer and Robert (Rachael) Indjger. He has several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Voorhies; his sister, Dorothea Sova; and his half-brother, Keith Voorhies. According to his wishes, there will be no services.
