Mitchael "Mitch" Van Gent's Obituary
Mitchael “Mitch” Elliott Van Gent, age 36, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024. Mitch was born on October 16, 1988, to Elliott and Diana (DeGlopper) Van Gent in Holland, MI, and graduated from Zeeland High School in 2007. On September 16, 2023, he married his beautiful bride, Angie Moore, and they began building a life together.
Mitch loved to go fast, whether it was on a road, on the water or on the snow. He lived life outdoors hunting, fishing, and riding quads and dirt bikes. No matter what Mitch was doing, you could be sure he was doing it with the people he loved. His greatest passion was his family and he sought adventure with them in every moment.
Mitch will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Angie Van Gent; five daughters: Abbey, MacKenzie, Lacey, Taylor, and Gracelynn; parents, Elliott and Diana Van Gent; mother in-law, Robin Moore; three siblings: Erica (David) Haveman, Blake (Marie) Van Gent, and Kaylena (Tim) Cloutier; grandmother: Sherrill DeGlopper; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by three grandparents: Don DeGlopper and Edward and Eleanor Van Gent; uncle, Chris DeGlopper; aunt, Pamela Finger; and father in-law: Harold Moore.
A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held for Mitch at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Ravenna Baptist Church, 3186 Blackmer Rd, Ravenna, MI 49451. VISITATION will be taking place at the church from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, November 1, 2024, as well as an hour prior to the service on Saturday.
