Mr. Douglas B. "Doug" Schelske's Obituary
Mr. Douglas B. “Doug” Schelske, age 55, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007. He was born in Muskegon on December 16, 1951 to Maureen Miller and had been a life resident of the area. Doug was a veteran of the United States Army and had served in the Vietnam War. Doug’s actions made him a very unique individual, a perfectionist, and it showed in the way he took care of things, especially his yard and his ability to fix things; there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He loved his family, loved his home, and took pleasure in watching the many birds eat from his feeders. Doug was an avid NASCAR and football fan, enjoyed playing cribbage, camping with his family in the Mackinac area, and restoring classic cars. On December 15, 1984, he married the former Lori J. Clark, and she survives him along with 6 children, Doug “DJ” Schelske, Jessica (Randy Jr.) Artibee, Jillian (Steven) Virag, Jason (Carrie) Zwart, Brandon Schelske, Brent Schelske; 2 grandsons, Caynon and Maddix Artibee; 1 brother, Greg; 3 sisters, Gayle, Dee Dee, Janelle and many close friends.
