Mr. Eugene R. Scarbrough's Obituary
Eugene R. Scarbrough, age 81, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 5, 2010. Born Oct. 18, 1928 in Cadillac to John R. and Melvina (Priest) Scarbrough, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Scarbrough retired as a pipefitter at S.D. Warren Co. after more than 30 years there, and was a member of the American Legion. He married the former Oliva Joyce July 11, 1974 in Muskegon, and she died July 27, 2007. SURVIVORS include his children: Patricia (Gary) Garn, Gail (Ted) Pastoor, and Lester (Kathy) Scarbrough; stepchildren Olivia (Dick) Fellows and Sammy Rush; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six brothers and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Oliva, and three brothers. The FUNERAL SERVICE for Mr. Scarbrough will be held 1:30 P.M. Saturday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231)-798-1100 with Pastor John Brown officiating and interment in Norton Cemetery. VISITATION will be at the funeral home 5-8 P.M. Friday. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to VNS Hospice would be appreciated.
