Mr. Gerrit Weideman's Obituary
Mr. Gerrit Weideman, age 81, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2007 in Muskegon. He was born in Muskegon on February 1, 1926 to Peter and Gertrude (VanDonkelaar) Weideman and had lived in Indiana, Minnesota and Canada before returning back to Muskegon. On September 4, 1948, he married the former Helen Leist and together they shared 59 years of marriage. Mr. Weideman was a veteran of the United States Army and had served in WWII. He was employed by CWC Textron as the Director of Quality Control for 13 years before retiring in 1988. He had previously been employed by Teledyne Continental Motors for 17 years. Mr. Weideman was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post 28. He was a volunteer for International Aid and enjoyed wood carving. He is survived by his wife, Helen; 3 children, Laura Weideman of Owatonna, MN, Janet (Michael) Withers of Forest, Ontario, and Gary Paul (Mary) Weideman of Grandville, MI; 5 grandchildren, Wade (Rhiannon), Mayme, Bradford, Robert, Emily; and 1 sister-in-law, Edna Weideman. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Fred Weideman; and 1 sister, Jennie Kramer. SERVICES will be 1PM Tuesday at
