Mrs. Clare Colucio Daniels' Obituary
Mrs. Clare Colucio Daniels passed away early Tuesday morning, May 16, 2006. She was born September 25th in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Wilhelmina (Krueger) Colucio. Mrs. Daniels worked in Chicago in various positions in banking and then at the Morrison hotel as an accountant. On June 15, 1940 she married George S. Daniels in Chicago and moved to Muskegon in 1942. She worked in the George Daniels CPA accounting business until 1986. Mrs. Daniels was a past President of the Quadrangle BPW Club and active in the Michigan BPW. In 1982 she was named Muskegon Businesswoman of the Year and in 1989 was appointed to the Local Emergency Planning Committee. She was past President of the Greater Muskegon Bowling Association and was inducted into the Muskegon Bowling Hall of Fame in 1999. She had also been co-founder of the Hackley Heritage Association. Mrs. Daniels was past Chairwoman of the Muskegon County Republican Party and was a National delegate to the Republican Party National Convention in 1970. In 1999 she was appointed to the Muskegon County Jury Commission and served as a Jury Commissioner until the present time. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Daniels was also the devoted pet sitter for the family cat, Dusty. SURVIVORS include 2 daughters, Sue (Don) Herald of Muskegon, Jill Daniels of Suttons Bay; 3 grandchildren, Julie Herald of Denver, CO, Kathy (Ben) Scheerer of Grand Rapids, Robert Herald of Muskegon; great-grandson, Maxwell George Scheerer of Grand Rapids – the new joy of her life; 2 sisters, Marcella Wilbert and Grace Eden of Chicago; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband George on May 5, 1986, and 2 sisters, Marie Rosenberger and Rita Colucio also of Chicago. Mrs. Daniels told everyone that she was 39 years old, but we all thought that not to be completely true. She enjoyed her life to the fullest. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Ernest J. Bernott presiding. Burial will be in Mona View Cemetery.
