Mrs. Edith Margarette McGarey's Obituary
Mrs. Edith Margarette McGarey, age 98, passed away Sunday September 11, 2011, surrounded by her family at the Harbor Hospice Poppen House. Edith was born May 8, 1913 in Cheboygan, MI to Charlie and Minnie (Perrow) Sarrault. Edith married Ellis E. McGarey in Petosky on February 23, 1935 and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1967. Following their marriage, they moved to Muskegon and started their family. Throughout the years, Edith enjoyed playing cards, reading, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Larry (Shirley) McGarey of Muskegon, Audrey Grant of Irons, MI, Marilyn Cheskie of Holton, and Marlene (Kelly) Bobbitt of Otsego, MI; 11 grandchildren; many, many great and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Robert J. McGarey; a sister, Dora Sorrow; and 3 brothers, Willard, Bernard and Laurence Sorrow. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11AM Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Pastor Jerry Selleck officiating. VISITATION will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mona View Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Holton United Methodist Church or Harbor Hospice.
