Louie, Nora, Anita and Louie Jr. I was saddened to hear about the passing of your wife, mother and friend. I have many fond memories of "Mrs. Martinez" that I will keep with me forever. One was watching cartoons with Nora after school. I remember the two of them arguing about how often Nora would wash her hair. It makes me smile as I think about it. Louie and family, I was on the Isle of Mujeres (off Cancun) when I received news of Mercedes' death. I was very proud to be able to call myself a friend for the past 30+ years. I will always remember her with a big smile on her face no matter the trials and tribulations she was going through. She was one of my favorite people. I'm sorry I was unable to attend services for her. I'm sure that the family will feel a "big hole" without her. I certainly will.

I am sorry to hear of Mercedes passing.
We have great memories of our days working on the Multicap team, sharing not only work but our joys and sorrows. The memories will just grow sweeter as the days go by.
May God grant you, Louie and the children and grandchildren, the peace and strength to live these next days in the memories that your wife and Mother left. She was a joy to know. Heaven is blessed to have her.

Dear Mercedes'Family: I worked with your Mom for Muskegon Public Schools during the late 80's & early 90's.We really had a great time with some of those kids at South Shores!! Louie...even though I don't know you, I wanted to let you know that I worked with Mercedes for 7 years in the Multicap Program, and remember well how much she was treasured there in her work with infants.She was such a loving asset on our staff.
