Mrs. Pearl D. Roland's Obituary
Mrs. Pearl D. Roland, age 77, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, July 4, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on December 6, 1928 in Trowbridge, England to Reginald and Daisy (Adlam) Bennett. She has been a resident of Muskegon since moving here in 1947 from England. Pearl had been employed by many local restaurants as a waitress and was a volunteer at Muskegon General Hospital Pain Clinic. She was an active member of First Congregational Church. She loved to bake pies, knit, and spend time with her grandchildren. On November 12, 1977, she married Carroll Roland and he preceded her in death on April 26, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her 2nd husband, Phil Bohland in 1975; and her parents. She is survived by 2 sons, Roy (JoAnn) Kartes of Muskegon and Stephen (Barbara) Kartes of Norton Shores; 1 daughter, Rhonda (Dave) Hunt of Montague; 1 step-son, Carroll Dudley Roland of Marshall Town, IA; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Roy Bennett of Harrow-Weald, England; 2 sisters, Marlene (Jack) Greiner of Muskegon and Mavis (Ralph Mead) Andrjisczyn of Swainsboro, GA; many nieces, nephews and special close friends. SERVICES will be 11AM Saturday at First Congregational Church with Rev. Timothy VanderHaar officiating. VISITATION will be 3-5 and 7-9PM Friday at
