What I remember best was his smile and his laugh. It was a good, hearty, honest laugh;no pretense. When I was small, we would visit quite often. I never was much company for anybody since I was usually engrossed in the magazines Melvin left laying around. Give me something to read and I read it. But that laugh cut through my fog and lit up the room.
Then Dad (Leon) began working weekends and nights and we could not make it over as often. Our loss. We would see Willis and all from time to time, and that laugh and that smile always brightened the room.
All things must pass, but you know, I'm going to miss that laugh.
Cheryl and I give your our sincerest condolences. We know how you must feel. Even when you are prepared for someone's passing, you are never prepared when it happens.
God bless.
