Mr. Willis Houston McCann's Obituary
Mr. Willis Houston McCann, age 92, passed away Saturday evening, September 1, 2007 at a local nursing home. He was born in Newaygo on September 27, 1914 to Phillip Lewis and Carrie (Houston) McCann and was a resident of the Muskegon area for most of his life. Mr. McCann was an electrician for CWC Textron for over 40 years before retiring in 1984. He was a former member of Henry Street Baptist Church. On March 12, 1937, he married the former Eleanor E. Almon and she preceded him in death on February 27, 2004. He is survived by 5 children, Joyce (Eugene) Slater of Norton Shores, Melvin (Laurel) McCann of Ludington, Richard (Barbara) McCann of McGaheysville, VA, Fontella (Albert) George of Norton Shores, James (Judy) McCann of Bedford, TX; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Eileen Heinzelman of Roseville, CA; and 1 sister-in-law, Florence McCann of Grand Rapids. In addition to his wife, Willis was preceded in death by his parents, 1 grandson, Michael George; 1 brother, Leon McCann; and 1 sister, Phyllis Dingman. SERVICES will be 11AM Thursday at
