Nancy Ann Aubry's Obituary
Nancy Ann Aubry, 68, of Grand Haven passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018.
She was born Nancy Ann McKown on October 4, 1949 to Craig and Adah (Rhea) McKown in Port Arthur, TX. She graduated with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toledo in June 1989. Nancy worked in nursery/landscaping, retailing, and as a paraprofessional. Her dream to work in a library came true when she was a library clerk for seven years at Spring Lake District Library, retiring in 2013.
Nancy loved the four seasons and West Michigan: in spring and summer, her passions were planting and completing any other projects she could get her hands on, whether here, in Milwaukee, or East Lansing; in fall, she kept fires in the fireplace; in winter, she maintained the fires and did jigsaw puzzles. Throughout the year she competitively exercised at Curves, enjoyed her friends, did crossword puzzles, listened to NPR, watched PBS, read, cooked, baked, dog-sat, and so much more.
Pizza sustained her.
For all the things she loved to do, they all paled when it came to her family.
She is survived by her husband, Rick; daughter, Kimberly (Brendan) Ringlever of East Lansing, MI; son, Lewis (Emily Rutter) Horn III of Milwaukee, WI; sister, Lynn (Jay) Quinlan of Pittsburgh, PA; cousins, Barby McKown and Judy (Ray) Hord of Sarasota, FL; grandsons, Marcus and Matthew Ringlever; extended family members and many friends; and “granddogs,” Chopper and Birdie.
A memorial service will be held March 10, 2018 at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven, 508 Franklin Ave., with Rev. Troy Hauser Brydon officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Nancy’s memory may be made to The People Center, Spring Lake, MI. Share memories with the family at their online guest book at www.sytsemafh.com.
