My condolences to your family in the loss of your sister, mother, and grandmother.
"Mrs. Midboe" was my second-grade teacher at Phillips School during the 1959-1960 school year. Whenever someone has asked me about my favorite teacher I have unfailingly identified her, though I can't quite put my finger on why. Perhaps second-grade was my favorite year or maybe being seven years old was especially comfortable, but I tend to think there was something about Mrs. Midboe's quiet and calm demeanor in the classroom. I couldn't swear that that was actually the case, but I'm sure I would've remembered had she been mean (like my first-grade teacher!). Maybe it simply is a case of having such a contrasting personality and style from my previous year's experience that cemented this image I have of my favorite teacher, Nella Midboe.
Knowing her age now reveals that she was not the "old lady" I have envisioned. She was two years younger then than I am now!
I hope this reflection hasn't been too light during your time of grief, but I felt strongly about letting you know the positive amd warm memories I have of my "Mrs. Midboe".
Sincerely,
