Nella A. Midboe's Obituary
Mrs. Nella Anna (Carlson) Midboe, age 95, died Thursday, October 13, 2005 at Mercy General Hospital. She was born on Easter Sunday, March 27, 1910 in Winger, Minnesota to Rolf and Marie (Geldaker) Carlson. She was the widow of Joseph Midboe, a decorated WWI veteran, who died in 1978. Nella taught second grade for many years at Phillips School and later became a life member of the Muskegon County Chapter of Retired School Personnel. She was also a member of Crestwood United Methodist Church. Nella was an active and energetic lady who loved gardening, reading, sewing and took particular delight in solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She was truly a wonderful lady and will be very deeply missed by her 3 brothers, Ole, William (Alice) and Hilmer Carlson; her son, Raymond; 2 daughters, Joan (George) Gascon and Jean (Martin) Storm; 2 grandsons, Stephen (Marta) and John (Jitka) Storm; and 1 great-granddaughter, Gabriela Storm. Besides her husband, Nella was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers, Carl, Arnold and Marvil Carlson. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, October 17, 2005 at Crestwood United Methodist Church, 1220 Creston Avenue with Pastor Dianne Doten Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery. VISITATION will be Sunday, 2-4 PM at Sytsema Funeral Home, 737 Apple Avenue, 726-5210. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Crestwood United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
