I was 6 years old, the day I met "Aunt Nellie and Uncle Al", as I've always called them. My friend Rachel and I, who was 4, were walking, and she got a sliver, right about the time we came up to see 2 smiling people sitting in lawn chairs at the end of their driveway, on a nice summer day. Uncle Al took out that sliver, and ever since that day, we have stayed in contact. We would go for walks together, my parents would go over and visit, we would spend the night, play board games, make extra buttery popcorn, sit with Uncle Al in the driveway as he listened to baseball games on his radio, I have SO many wonderful memories of them both. I am now 25 years old. They both attended my wedding, came to the hospital when I had my children, and last August when my sister passed away, Aunt Nellie, having just had surgery, came to the funeral, to show her love and support. It’s sad, to have lost two of the most loving people that shared many of my childhood memories with me, but its such a comfort to know that they are both in Heaven, with our Lord, and that is enough to put a smile on my face.##imported-begin##Stacey Tyler##imported-end##
Mark, Melva, and families.
Please except my sympathy. When your father and Nellie were united in marriage my heart was thrilled. Nellie is a special person. Your father and Nellie were a sincere loving caring couple. I would see them together and think if everyone cared about each other as they did our world would have no troubles. They were indeed Special. I remember at your father's funeral when Mark spoke about what to call his new stepmother. Later to come to the reality that Second Mom it would be, not to replace your Mom but that Nellie could also be your Mom. Having not had children of her own the both of you and your children were so very special to Nellie. Christmas with your children was something Nellie may never have experenced had they not married. Thank you for everything you have given to Nellie.
Sincerely,
Carla##imported-begin##Carla Southland Nellie's cousin##imported-end##

We are both so sorry to hear about Nellie. Her and Al were some of our closes friends. Nellie and Al stood up for Mark and myself at our wedding almost 14 yrs ago. We were their old neighbors and became very close. Nellie would bring me flowers every time she would go to the farmers market. She would say Linda would just love these and I would. She was the most kind and loving woman I knew and she will be greatly missed by us both.##imported-begin##Mr. & Mrs. Mark (Linda) Arseneau##imported-end##
