My Aunt Olga was simply the best. As a child, I remember her taking me and my two brothers out for ice cream at the soda shop across from Dresser Industries where she worked as a secretary for many years and then continued the practice with myself and my daughters to 27 Flavors Ice Cream Shop near Jefferson Towers where she lived. I also remember her taking us to Pere Marguete beach when we were very little. We spend the day playing in the water and on the beach while making regular trips to the concession stand for ice cream, pop and popcorn. Those were great days for us. Afterwards, I would beg my parents to let me stay and sleep on the couch at her house where Grandma Kovarcik and Milan lived, to be picked up by my parents a day or so later. I will always remember that old alarm clock ticking away at the end of the couch. It kept me entertained and awake through much of the night. When I began to travel abroad, Olga would leave her apartment and come stay at mine to take care of my cat Smoky. When I came back, she stayed there until she decided to return to her small cramped apartment. She slept in my bed, I slept in the basement which was fine with me because I really enjoyed her company. She was alot like me, wasn't a conformist and quite adventurous. Travelling abroad and throughout the U.S. every opportunity she got. She use to drive all the way up to Traverse City by herself to pick up her brother Paul. Bringing him all the way back to Muskegon, then drive him back again. No one else was willing to do that for Paul. Aunt Olga was so easy to get along with and so much fun to be around. I was never able to talk either of my parents into going for a ride on Lake Michigan in my loud high performance boat. Aunt Olga eagerly accepted the invitation. So, just me and her, went all the way to Grand Haven and back. She loved every moment. Aunt Olga was honest, fair (treated everyone equally, no favorites), kind, compassionate and generous, if someone needed a small loan or help in a emergency she was there. Never expecting anything in return. She will deeply missed by all.##imported-begin##David and Elena McGrady##imported-end##
