Bonnie Vanderlaan
Dear Todd & family,
This has been a very difficult year for you as you've experienced the loss of three people very dear to you. . .your mom, brother, and now, your grandma. You have our deepest sympathy.
Ollie and my mom became best friends when they worked together at E. H. Sheldon Company, just out of high school. Your grandpa and grandma were married just five days before my mom and dad.
My best memories of your grandma were staying overnight with your mom at their house, even though she made us go to bed early! (We turned the radio on really low and listened to that for a while!) I even went camping with them at Grand Haven State Park. One morning, at the campground, Sandy and I ate so many pieces of Ollie's French toast, that your grandma thought we were going to explode! I also went with your mom to watch her parents square dance several times.
Also, your grandma was the one that gave my mom the nickname she still goes by, "Tiny"!
We are so sorry we will not be able to attend Ollie's funeral. We are on vacation, and mom is in a nursing home. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you today. May God hold you close and give you His comfort and peace.
Lovingly,
Bonnie & Larry Vanderlaan and
Marion "Tiny" Sieplinga
