Opal Irene Richards' Obituary
Mrs. Opal Irene Richards, age 94, passed away Saturday morning February 13, 2010 at the Christian Care Nursing Center. She was born in Eckerty, Indiana on Christmas Day 1915, the daughter of Chester and Martha (Riley) Lamon. She came to Muskegon in 1936 to work, and eventually met and married Henry A. Richards on September 16, 1939. She worked at General Telephone in the early 50’s, Grossman’s Dept. Store in the 50’s and early 60’s, and then at Uniformly Yours. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Henry; a son, Jerry (Carole) Richards of Mason, Michigan; 2 grandchildren, Wendy (Ken) Henderson and Jeff (Tammy) Richards); 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Campton of Knightstown, Indiana; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by one son, Henry; her mother and father; brothers, George, Ted, Ollie, and Chet; and a sister, Virginia. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at
