Barrett Mcdevitt
This is Barrett and Adair McDevitt of Rye NH. We first met Miss Pam when she invited us into her home at Belizean Cove on Ambergris Caye Belize around 2006 or 7. We had bought unit #8 there and it was still under construction. Her home was so incredibly interesting and well decorated. She was a voracious collector of eclectic beauty. Paul was taking chocolate cookies out of the oven with a big grin on his face and the home smelled wonderful. We were so lucky to know Pamela for the next 15 years spending many fine times by the pool, out to dinner with friends or just chatting over cocktails. I am a plein air landscape painter and I spent many hours painting the scenes of San Pedro and Ambergris Caye in oils and Pamela was far and away my biggest collector, she loved art and my creations!
I was concerned a few months back when she didn't respond to my emails but assumed I had a wrong address. Pamela was a wonderful person, so damn smart but also so kind and caring. She cared about the citizens of San Pedro very much. She always had a great perspective on local or global events. We are just learning about this now, it's hard when we live in different states and would only see each other for a few months at a time. Adair is bawling her eyes out right now and I'm seriously misty but I am comforted by my last memory of Pamela. We had had a fun night together at Belizean Cove and Adair and I were flying out the next morning. We were out on our deck that evening (Pamela called our unit the "doppelgänger" to hers) when Pamela walked out on the pier to catch her boat. She waved to us and wished us well and said "I love you." We waved enthusiastically and told her we loved her back! Hard to ask for a more pleasant final interaction than that. We love you Pam!
All the best to her family and friends.
