Mrs. Patricia Louise Tilton, age 81, passed away Saturday afternoon July 19, 2008. She was born March 1, 1927 in Cambridge, OH to Frank and Georgia (Hess) Powell and moved to Muskegon in 1964. Mrs. Tilton was a graduate of the Col Read Obituary
Mrs. Tilton was such a special lady. I had the privilege of knowing her most of my life. I remember Mrs. Tilton singing alto in the church choir. She was there every Sunday and shared such a joyful spirit with us all. Mrs. Tilton was also my 8th grade English teacher. She was very demanding; we were all better students for having her. Your Mom was my English teacher back in the early 70's. She was such a great role model for me. She always looked impeccable. She was from the "old school" were we respected our Teachers and mentors. I ran into here within the last year at Meijer's. We spoke and hugged each other, there was a tear in her eye as I told her what she meant to me, she could not believe I still recognized her, but she was just as beautiful. She told me that Stan had been to see her not to long before that. We held each other's hand as if we
were still in the 70's. I am so sorry for your lose, I am so greatful that I got to see her once last time and look into her beautiful giving eyes. I only wish I could have had a mother like that with all the love she had for all of you! Thinking of you all..........

Mrs. Tilton was one of the most encouraging teachers I had ever experienced. She was tough, but only to make one see and achieve the potential they truly had in them. I am so sorry to hear of her passing, but I do find comfort in knowing she is with our Lord. Prayers are with all of you during this time.
