I read about the passing of your husband Paul in the Kalamazoo Gazette. I hadn't heard about you for many years but think you are the Gloria that I was named after. My parents, Max and Lucille Allen, rented a farm from your aunt and uncle, Ed and Estella Hackman, for 6 years beginning about 1938. They thought you were a lovely young lady and decided to name me after you. I was born in 1946. I grew up calling Mr. and Mrs. Hackman grandpa and grandma and always enjoyed visits with them. Grandpa passed away when I was in high school and Grandma the year I graduated from high school, which was 1964. I believe at one time you folks lived in Battle Creek. I remember visiting there with my parents once. I lost track of any reference to you once the Hackmans were gone. Reading the article in the paper brought back memories and I just had to check to see if you were the person I am thinking. If not, I apologize for this note. In any case, I send my condolences at the loss of your husband and my prayers that God will bring comfort and peace to you at this time and in the future. May God's blessings surround you and your family.

My thoughts are with you. Paul was a very good man. Him and I became good buddies at Nottinham. He was a very strong man. I will always remember all the good chats that him and I had. I know that you are grieving but at the same time you are at peace because you know where he is know (resting in the arms of our Heavenly Father).
I am too, grieving his departure, but I know that our Lord escorted “Uncle Paul” to heaven with an army of Angels and he is celebrating his eternal life right now. I am very sad! I loved him very much!
I am deeply sorry that I can’t make it to the memorial. The weather here in Wisconsin has been very nasty in the last 24 hours.
