There were many times when I would go to visit Rich and he simply was not feeling well enough to spend much time visiting. During those moments, Paula and I would sit together and catch up on life, family, and memories. It was through those quiet conversations that I truly grew closer to her and came to appreciate her warmth, strength, and caring nature even more.
After Rich passed away two years ago, I wanted to make sure Paula knew she was never alone and that she would always remain an important part of our family. I made it a point to call her on her birthday, at Christmas, on Mother’s Day, and at other special times throughout the year just to check in, share a conversation, and let her know we were thinking about her and there for her.
Those calls and conversations became very meaningful to me, and I will always treasure the connection we shared. Paula will be deeply missed, but I will always remember her kindness, her resilience, and the special bond we developed over the past two years.
