Paula Rose Siemion's Obituary
Mrs. Paula Rose Siemion, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Paula was born in Muskegon, Michigan on February 13, 1949, to Paul and Charlotte (Hart) Johnson and her family moved to Grand Haven in 1964. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and had attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. Paula's employment journey began at the garden center of Meijer, where she found joy in the company's softball team and a mixed golf league. She then used her skills at the service counter of Rycenga Lumber, learning valuable building and design expertise, even tackling her own plumbing needs. It was when she met Rich Siemion Sr. that would change the course of her life. Not only did she fall in love, but she also took on the role of office manager at Rich's Automotive. There, she ran the office, handled service underwriting, and even learned to tune her own car. Paula and Rich's love blossomed, and they were married on March 18, 1987. Together, they moved to Manistee and built their dream log home. Their shared passions for travel, hunting, camping, sewing, fishing, puzzles, and yard work (with a particular fondness for weeding) filled their days with joy and adventure, especially during their trips to Tennessee and Texas. She will be missed by her children, Sherri (Brent) Bowser, Sandy (Dave) Machler, Tracy (Ray) Bytwerk, and Rich Siemion Jr.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Mike (Pam) Johnson; sister, Connie Barber; sister-in-law, Alice Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Siemion Sr.; daughter-in-law, Amy Siemion; brothers, Dennis, Tom, and Brian Johnson; sister-in-law, Dorleen Johnson; and nephews, Tyler and Ryan Lyles. A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00PM- 8:00PM on Friday, June 5, 2026, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
