Pauline "Jane" Wade's Obituary
Pauline “Jane” Wade, age 89, passed away unexpectedly November 3, 2019. She was born July 12, 1930 in Irons, MI to Peter and Juanieta (Jensen) Mezeske. Pauline graduated from Muskegon High School. On February 14, 1948, she married Carl J. Wade in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on February 8, 2001. Jane was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She was an Education Program Administrator for the Michigan State University Cooperative Extension Service (4H) for many years. Jane also worked at Hoffmaster State Park as an Interpreter in the Nature Center and ran the Intermediate School District one-room schoolhouse program for 10 years before retiring at age 80. She also taught the Gifted and Talented WINGS program at Muskegon Community College and was an active volunteer for many other organizations. Jane was the ultimate caregiver. SURVIVORS include 5 children: Tim (Karen) Wade of Traverse City, Mara Wade of Champaign, IL, Shaun (Kim) Wade of Norton Shores, Laurie (Joseph Donna) Wade of Alpena, MI, Theresa Wade of Muskegon; 4 grandchildren: Nathan (Carmen) Wade, Kirstyn (Erik) Love, Zackrie (Amberleigh) Wade, and Brianne Wade; 3 great-grandchildren: Daniel, Joseph, and Lucius; 3 brothers: Robert (Arlene) Mezeske, Richard (Barbara) Mezeske, Ronald (Betty) Mezeske; sister, Mary Archer; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Kenneth Ober; brothers: Carl and Gene Mezeske; and brother-in-law, John Archer. SERVICES will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 9, 2019 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100 with the Rev. Fr. Norm Droski presiding. VISITATION with the family will be from 5-7 PM Friday, November 8, 2019 and also one hour prior to the service Saturday morning. Burial will take place in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Brunswick, MI. MEMORIALS to the Land Conservancy of West Michigan will be appreciated.
