Peter was an outstanding individual within the community, dedicated to family and friends. His positive, supportive relationships will endure in the memories of those that he encountered for their lifetimes.
An advocate for the greater Muskegon community, Pete enriched countless lives throughout the county. He and Debbie have been paragons of the Catholic community through many decades with their continued selfless service to others.
Peter inherited traits from his parents that highlighted his personality and demeanor. Exemplary levels of dignity and grace from his mother and immense, encouraging charm from his father. Combined with his meticulous nature, they defined his consistent positive interactions with those of all ages and stations of life.
Pete grew up in the tennis community of Muskegon, centered in McGraft Park, that was ahead of its time. He spent countless hours on the courts honing his skills and became an outstanding player and coach.
Pete attended Muskegon Catholic Central High School when it was an athletic powerhouse, not just in football. He graduated as perhaps the finest individual player in the history of MCC tennis but never boasted of his prowess on the courts or performances in leading roles of annual musical productions.
His humble, yet competitive nature, made him a successful junior college and recreational player. Always a supportive, positive doubles teammate, Pete was a welcome addition to any high level tennis gathering or competition.
Pete combined his ambition and passion for the game to resurrect the tennis program at MCC. His dedication as both the boys and girls varsity coach was limitless. His players exhibited high ethical standards and performance levels through his examples and expectations. Pete also gave positive recognition and support to competitors from other high school teams. He was admired and respected by other coaches throughout the state.
Always humble about his own talents, Pete was extremely proud of his sons and grandchildren. He also recognized that the greater good was accomplished in partnership with his wife Debbie. Their generosity has made them pillars of the community.
We have been life-long friends with the Charrons, enjoying many dinners, social events, euchre games and vacations with them. Their gracious, caring, supportive, generous and fun attitudes have enriched us and the lives of our children.
They have made us part of their family and included us in every personal event. They are adored by their goddaughter (our first born) and have made a difference in the lives of our family.
Pete will never be forgotten!
