Peter Kelly "Pete" Charron's Obituary
Peter Kelly “Pete” Charron, age 70, passed away very unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Trinity Health – Muskegon Hospital. Pete was born September 15, 1955 in Muskegon to Adolph J. and Elizabeth “Bets” R. (Murray) Charron and was a lifelong resident of the area. Pete received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Grand Valley State University. Pete married Debra Marie Panici on June 28, 1980 at the former St. Jean de Baptiste Catholic Church in Muskegon. Pete worked as a Sales Representative for Baldwin Filters since 1987 and retired in 2020 after 30+ years. He was a longtime member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and had been a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #706. He was also a member of the Vikings Linne Lodge #57 and the Mona Lake Boat Club. Pete loved coaching his own boys in tennis at Muskegon Catholic Central where he had been a longtime coach of both boys and girls tennis. He coached the boys tennis to the 2002 Michigan State Championship. His greatest love was spending time with his grandkids. Pete is survived by his loving wife, Debra “Deb” Charron; 2 sons, Brian (Ashlee) Charron, Kyle Charron; 3 grandkids, Easton, Lennon, and Hudson Charron; 3 brothers, Patrick Charron, Timothy Charron, Brian Charron; 1 sister, Ann (Gary) Gunia; and 7 sisters-in-law, Pam Panici, Sue Panici, Sharon (Don) Jones, Laure Panici, Cindy (Johnny) Alcorn, Jean (Mike) DeLore, Nanette (John) Farrell; and several nieces and nephews. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Bets Charron; his in-laws, Fritz and Sally Panici; and 2 sisters-in-law, Connie Charron and PJ Charron. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:00 PM Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 2929 McCracken Street, Norton Shores, MI 49441. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Monday at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 PM Monday. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Mass on Tuesday at the church. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
