Peter Moyer's Obituary
Mr. Peter Moyer, age 83, died Monday morning, July 9, 2007, at Hackley Hospital. He was born June 30, 1924 in Carbondale, PA to Dominic & Margaret (Foote) Moyer; and has resided in Muskegon the past 57 years. Peter was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and had been actively involved with its functions, including the early years of its Spaghetti Dinner. He was involved with the Ruddiman Terrace Boy’s Club, had been a Big-Brother, taught driver’s training to handicapped individuals, was a Ham Radio operator (WB8TNE) and was a storm watcher for Civil Defense. He was also a member of the Grand Haven American Legion Post. On July 26, 1952, he married the former Betty J. St. Charles and she survives him along with 3 daughters, Debra (James) Maybury of Streamwood, IL, Cindy Moyer of Sycamore, IL and Diana (Alan) McConnell of Norton Shores; 3 grandchildren, James Paul Maybury, Amanda Kay Maybury and Brian McConnell; 2 sisters, Ann Moyer of North Muskegon, Mary (Bob) Bysom of Denver, CO and by 2 sisters-in-law, Betty Moyer of N.C. and Elaine Moyer of Muskegon. Peter was preceded in death by his 2 brothers, “Carm” & Carl Moyer. A MEMORIAL MASS will be celebrated 11 AM Friday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Michael Olson presiding. Interment has taken place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION with Peter’s family will be 10 – 11 AM Friday at the church. MEMORIAL GIFTS to the American Diabetes Association will be appreciated.
