I looked forward to seeing Gus at the flea markets every Wednesday. He was never short of conversation and always made me and my dad smile. I loved purchasing tools from him. He gave us great deals. He knew I was a disc golfer, and he would give me disc golfing stuff for free. He was such a an awesome man! The flea market won't be the same without him. I really loved his kind heart. My memories of him will last forever. He was a true inspiration in my life. ❤️
I really liked him as my high school Biology teacher back in 1974. Many years later I ran quite a few estate sales, he came to every one and was a great haggler, I never knew the hot wheels story, if I had, I'd have given him every one! I will give them out this year in his honor. A life well lived. Rest in Peace Mr. Rogers... I just couldn't call him Phil. :)
So sorry to hear of Gus passing. Not only were he and Julie neighbors. But good friends we made along the way. I always made sure to stop by his booth at Flea Market to say hi and catch up. He always had time to talk for a few minutes. Until the next sale came along. RIP my friend.
