Pierre L. "Pete" Hinkley's Obituary
Mr. Pierre Louis “Pete” Hinkley moved into his Heavenly mansion Sunday, March 12, 2006. Pete was born September 30, 1945, in Muskegon, to Lewis and Jeanne (Faucher) Hinkley. He graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central and had served his Country in the US Army Reserve. Pete was employed by the Muskegon Chronicle for 42 years as a plate maker, pressman, and sales person, retiring in 2005.  He attended Shoreline Community Church; was a member the Vets Club and the Muskegon Heights Eagles. Pete was a born again Christian. He loved Jesus, his family, his friends, his cars, his home and Notre Dame Football, in that order. To know him was to understand love. On March 21, 2003, he married the former Roberta “Bobbie” Kay Weber in Muskegon and she SURVIVES him along with his daughter, Elizabeth Hinkley of Muskegon; 2 sons, Patrick (Amanda Merrit) Hinkley of Holland and Eric (Debra) Hinkley of Colorado;  a stepdaughter, Jinger (Morse) Michael of Collinsville, IL; 4 Grandchildren, Eryn Hinkley, Tarah Hinkley, Emilee Michael and Ryan Michael; 3 sisters, Carol(Joe) Lenius , Pam (Pat) Powers, (all of Ludington), and Patricia (Joe) Episcopo of Tampa, FL; special friends, John Shepherd and Marsha VanLente; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.  Pierre was preceded in death by his mother and father. A CELEBRATION OF PETE’S LIFE will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 23, 2006 at Shoreline Community Church, 1050 W. Western Ave., with Pastor Jerry Collins officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hackley VNS Hospice, 888 Terrace St., Muskegon, MI 49440-1297.
