Bill Cross
I met Ray in 1961 when I started teaching 7th grade American History and geography at Steele Jr . High. Ray was already there teaching the same thing. He and Paul Vander Stelt were very helpful to me that first year with materials and ideas for teaching the classes.
I also learned that Ray was a very handy person to have around when you had a construction or building issue. I am not a very handy guy on my own but a willing helper when someone else could take the lead. Ray was that guy. He helped me on numerous home projects, and after my summer tennis job was cut back by the city I resigned the tennis and helped Ray paint houses during the summer for a few years.
Ray was a good friend and will be missed
Bill Cross.
