We were honored to have been able to attend the funeral mass for Ray. I only
recently learned of his military service, something I'm sure the family is proud of.
In my younger days as one of two golfing sons of a longtime club member, I came to know and appreciate Ray's gentle and sincere manner to all those around him. He was a true serving professional of the people. That is how I shall remember him.

I remember well my days at MCC when as a kid Ray would always encourage me and my friends to play golf. My father and mother (Wally and Kathleen) were great fans of Ray. Ray was a real gentleman and will be missed by all...Fairways and Greens!!##imported-begin##Bill Davis##imported-end##

Dear Sruba Family

Your Dad was a wonderful man and will be deeply missed in West Michigan. I will always remember those plaid pants, that great smile and I would have loved to have seen him whack that golf ball, but I never got the chance. Rest in Peace Ray.

Ray was the eternal optimist looking at the rain fall out of the Pro Shop window and saying, "It's clearing in the West!". Such a special man...one of my Father's favorites, and he didn't like many people.
What a privilege it was to spend my Summer days at MCC during "The Sruba Reign"! Eventhough short in stature, there was never a doubt who was in charge...Mrs. Sruba. So many great memories at "The Club" or the Sruba's home off of the 2nd green. A different time, a special place, and a wonderful Family...thanks for the memories. See you tomorrow.
