Raymond A. Sruba's Obituary
Mr. Raymond A. Sruba, age 89, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 13, 2011. He was born April 13, 1921 to Alexander and Helen (Kowalczyk) Sruba in Grand Rapids, and lived in the West Michigan area all of his life. He was a member of the P.G.A., and from 1949 to 1976 was the golf professional at the Muskegon Country Club. Mr. Sruba was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Muskegon, and attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Grand Haven. On November 15, 1947 he married Dorothy Mae Parrish, and she preceded him in death on April 7, 2008. SURVIVORS include 6 sons; Mike (Monica), Dennis (Mary), Raymond (Sonia), Donald “Dan” (Renate), Thomas (Joni), Joseph (Barb); 15 grandchildren, Kristi (Frank), David, Joanne (Jim), Heather, Jasmine, Justice, Mariah-Jade, Samantha, Lindsay, Ray (Jessica), Alyssa, Casey, Adam, Brett, Taylor; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Edward (Elizabeth); many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his son James on January 29, 2011; 4 brothers, Bert, Bernard, John, Vincent; 3 sisters, Eleanor, Helen, and Estelle. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 19, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Hack presiding. Entombment will take place at St. Marys Mausoleum. VISITATION at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S.
