To Rick, Cindy and Family: Dick Davies became my friend in 1959. Dick and Bill, my late husband, were school mates graduating from Jefferson HS in 1954. Both of them served a three year stint in the Military after graduation and both of them married girls they met while in service. Bill married me, a Spanish girl from Dallas, while Dick married Marge, a girl from Boston. The four of us shared a lifetime of memories. I helped Dick with his Spanish courses when he attended college and he helped me with writing up my ads when I ran for City Treasurer in Jefferson way back when. My husband, Bill, died in April, 2002 and I have continued my friendship with both Dick and Marge all these years. I would like to thank Dick for the gift he left all of us. Without lecturing and by example only, Dick taught us all to never speak ill of anyone because HE NEVER DID!! If all of us could incorporate that lovely habit into our daily lives we could transform the world! Thanks for the gift, Dick! The last time I spoke with Dick on the phone was when his son, Doug, passed. His last words to me were "I love you" to which I replied, "I love you back."
