Mr. Richard P. Davies Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Richard P. Davies, Sr., age 76, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 2, 2013 at his home. He was born December 2, 1936 to Harold T. and Germaine (Truax) Davies in Reedsburg, WI and lived in the Muskegon area for over thirty years. He was a graduate of the U. of W. Madison, WI with a B.S. in Political Science, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Dick worked as a writer and journalist throughout his career, with articles published in JAMA, World Book, the Chicago Tribune, and most noteworthy at the Muskegon Chronicle for the last decades of his career. He is survived by 2 children, Rick (Jane Sytek) Davies of Bloomingdale, Cindy (Dave Juhnke) Davies of Minneapolis; 3 granddaughters, Lara (Paul) Oberlin, Katie Rudd, Cassie Juhnke; 2 great-grandchildren, Willow and Ginger VanAntwerp. Dick was preceded in death by a son, Doug Davies in 2013. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, November 8, 2013, at 1:00 PM at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.,737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, 49442,
