Richard C. "Dick" Hubbell's Obituary
Richard C. “Dick” Hubbell, age 97, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026. He was born August 25, 1928, in Detroit, MI to Percy and Ethel (Ferguson) Hubbell. Dick was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and was employed for many years by the State of Michigan as an Engineering Aide. On September 1, 1951, he married Joyce F. Baustert in Ravenna; she preceded him in death on April 22, 2005. Dick was the longest-standing and a devoted member of St. Catherine Catholic Church and its Cluster, where he participated in the Men’s Group and assisted with the annual fish fries. SURVIVORS include six daughters, Sharon (Robert) Strek of Grand Rapids, Barbara (Michael) Miller of Pensacola, Florida, Debra (Gabriel) Gomez of North Muskegon, Theresa (Kevin) Jahn of Ravenna, Paula Koewers of Pensacola, Florida, and Ann (Lance) Homan of Muskegon; 14 grandchildren; multiple great and great-great grandchildren; brother, Thomas (Diane) Hubbell; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Donald Koewers; and a brother, Raymond Hubbell. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Ravenna. Visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to the mass at the church. He will be laid to rest in St. Catherine Catholic Church Cemetery with full Military Rites under the auspices of the Ravenna American Legion Post 297 Honor Guard and the United States Air Force .
