Richard Arden Martin's Obituary
Mr. Richard Arden Martin, age 86, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 in Muskegon. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on March 20, 1931 to Harris and Gladys (Kern) Martin. Richard was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War. He was employed by Enterprise Brass for 40 years, taking an early retirement so he could become a park ranger at Duck Lake State Park, a job he truly loved for nearly a decade. He enjoyed bicycling, fishing, cross country skiing, snurfing and body surfing. On August 18, 1961, Richard married the former Harriette A. Cole of Muskegon and she survives him along with three children, Linda (Arnold) Jackson, Beverly (Richard) Kubicki and Benny Martin; 14 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Kathy) Martin and two sisters, Bunny Bont and Shirley Brothers. He was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Martin and Danny Rust; his parents, one brother and one sister. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 11:00 AM Thursday, September 21, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Rev. Delbert Yoder officiating. VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS in Richard’s memory may be directed to the Muskegon Rescue Mission.
