Richard "Rick" A. Aumiller's Obituary
With deep sadness, the family of Richard “Rick” Aumiller, announce his unexpected passing on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at the age of 53.
Rick was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and cherished friend to so many. All who knew Rick felt his big heart and giving nature. His generosity to his family and friends was unselfish and unmatched. If friends and family needed Rick, he was ALWAYS there. He truly had a heart of gold, and he will be missed always.
Rick was born on December 16, 1968, to Robert Aumiller and Marilyn (Eklund) Rolison in Muskegon. He spent his childhood and early adulthood living in Ravenna. He was employed by Ravenna Feed and Grain for 16 years. He then worked at Steel Cut Services in Nunica before becoming successfully self-employed. Rick’s successes in life came from hard work and hardships, perseverance through it all and his endless dedication to family and friends. But Rick would tell you that his greatest success in life was becoming a father to Gunner and Ericka. They were his entire existence and he loved them beyond measure. They are his lasting legacy.
Rick was an avid outdoorsman. He spent every fall in the woods hunting big bucks. Spring and summer were spent fishing with his dad, Sonny, and turkey hunting. But Rick’s most cherished memories of hunting and fishing were the ones spent with his son, Gunner. Rick traveled north to the U.P. many many times over the years to deer hunt with family and friends in Iron River. His trips north were not complete without getting Riverside Pizza, pasties and smoked fish.
Rick will be forever remembered by his daughter, Ericka; brother, Larry (Jennifer); nephew, Danny (Nikki) who he thought of as a son; siblings, Cliff, Kris, Annette; nephews, Harley, Barrett, Phoenix, Breslin, Shawn; nieces, Quinn, Harper, Brittany, Lacey; close companion, Valerie Nelson and her daughter, Brook; and countless friends that he considered family. Special thanks to Rick and Gayle Freeman.
Those who went before him, his beloved son, Gunner; mother and father, Marilyn and Cliff Rolison; brother, Robert Aumiller; sister-in-law, Melinda Aumiller; grandparents; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
