Richard Allyn German's Obituary
Mr. Richard (Rick) A. German, age 66, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 18, 2007. He was born on April 2, 1941 to Lester and Alice (Hoekenga) German in Muskegon and had been a life resident. He worked for both Dresser Industries of Muskegon (16 yrs) and Harbor Industries of Grand Haven (18 yrs) prior to his retirement in 2002. Rick was a devoted family man, spending most of his free time with them. He was also a great animal lover and an enthusiastic traveler, being well known for his day-trips with his family. On August 24, 1973 he married the former Margaret Vallier in Muskegon. His wife survives him along with two children, Paul (Becky) German and Brian German; his grandchildren, Joshua, Jonathan, Sarah, Scott and Jaymes; two brothers, Robert (Betty) German and Terry (Eileen) German; his mother-in-law Sophia Vallier, brother-in-law, Dan Vallier and three sisters-in-law, Janet Scott, Judy (Don) Hegedus, and Shirley (Ron) Vallier-Larson. FUNERAL SERVICES will be at 11 AM Thursday, May 24 at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.,737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 with Rev. Paul German officiating. VISITATION with Rick's family will be from 5-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. MEMORIALS to Paul and Becky's overseas mission work or the Humane Society would be appreciated. BURIAL will take place at Norton Cemetery.
