Robert J. Cutler, age 85, passed away unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, January 26, 2012 following a long illness. He was born in Pontiac, MI the only child of A.E. Bob and Norma J. (Sample) Cutler. Mr. Cutler was a graduate of Iow Read Obituary
I have long admired Bob's skillful leadership and personal warmth in his many civic roles. He and Betsy truly have made our world a better place. He will be missed. May your family find peace in the knowledge that his life was well led. My deepest sympathy for your loss. Kathy Agard
Bob hired me in 1963 when Jim Boyle had turned in his time and the Integral line was going to be given to Bob. It didn't happen but I was hired and that began a long and fruitful relationship with Bob. I eventually became Bob's replacement as Sales Manager when Bob was promoted to General Manager of plant 3. I left the company in 1980 to go back to school in OH but still repped the company at GE, Cinn. and worked for Bob. It was while there that Bob gave me full hospitalization(for which I was eternally grateful)and eventually I worked my way up to full time(after graduation from college) and then I was transferred back to Whitehall to become Sales Manager of the Machining Division. All this time I remained in touch with Bob and even after he and I retired from Howmet I saw Bob and Betsy at the WSSO concerts. The last time I saw Bob was last year at the eye doctor's. We spent some time catching up. Unfortunately I won't be able to make the visitation or funneral because of my limited ability but I did want to remenise a little.
