Robert L. "Bob" Shrum's Obituary
Robert Lee “Bob” Shrum, age 92, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020. He was born December 20, 1927 in Senath, Missouri to John and Grace (Gross) Shrum. On April 6, 1948, he married the love of his life, the former Thelma Lambert, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Bob worked for Meier Cleaners for 45 years prior to his retirement in 1993. He attended Unity Reformed Church and served as their custodian for 8 years. Bob was an avid outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, and boating. He also loved to play cribbage, coached Little and Pony League baseball, and at one time had been an assistant Scout Master. SURVIVORS include his wife, Thelma; 3 sons: Terry (Rosemary) Shrum of Grand Haven, Keith (Gloria) Shrum, Mitchell (Rhea) Shrum both of Norton Shores; 7 grandchildren: Clint (Kristy), Derek (Dottie), Mindy, Tara, Dustin (Heather), Breanne, and Anthony; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Barb; 4 sisters and 4 brothers. Due to COVID-19 and social distancing, a private service for Bob will held by the family with a public memorial service to be held at a later date. Burial will take place in Norton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Unity Reformed Church Memorial Fund will be appreciated.
