Mr. Robert Francis Wingett's Obituary
Mr. Robert Francis Wingett, age 81, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Poppen Residence of Harbor Hospice. He was born November 26, 1931 in Muskegon to Louis Z. and Olive (Green) Wingett and was a life resident. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in the Korean War. On August 1, 1953, he married the former Dolores Ann Faketty in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on June 16, 2006. Prior to retirement in 1996, he worked 44 years as a chrome plate tech at Sealed Power Corp. He was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Muskegon and Holland Barbershop Quartet Societies. Robert was an avid naturalist who loved being outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a talented “green thumb” with his flower and vegetable gardens. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Robert L. Wingett, Karen (Brian) Avdek, Patrick (Shelly) Wingett all of Muskegon, Brian (Nancy) Wingett of Hesperia; 8 grandchildren, Michael Avdek, Nate (Megan) Avdek, Anastasia Avdek, Justin Avdek, Kelsey Wingett, Austin Wingett, Joe (Rachel) Wingett, Andy Wingett; 2 great-grandchildren, Audrey Wingett and Carson Wingett. A FUNERAL LITURGY will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey Street, (231) 798-1100, with the Rev. Fr. Anthony M. Pelak as presider.
