I remember several things from Mr. Hermanson and his class. Sixth grade was when I discovered that the rest of the world disappeared when I was solving a math problem. I will be forever grateful that he taught us how to organize our thoughts and ideas using an outline form. And, then there were the state reports! This really helped me develop my research skills.I still remember him teaching us how to "fly" a plane using cans and a meter stick to simulate it. I think I had a crush on him too. Years after sixth grade, I found a note that I had written and he had written back a nice response. He made a difference!##imported-begin##Kathy (Dunn) Kortering##imported-end##
I had the joys of having Mr Hermanson as my 6th grade teacher at Bunker School.I will never forget the way his voice and his laughter echoed through the halls. When I got little older I was lucky to have him and Big Jim Deyoung teach me so much about traditional muzzleloading. He was one of a kind when it came to telling stories around a campfire. He will be greatly missed. My deepest condolences to your family.##imported-begin##Mike Wessels##imported-end##
I also had the honor of having Mr. Hermanson for my 6th grade teacher. He was one of the most awesome teachers I ever had. My heart felt condolences go out to you all.

My deepist sympathy to the Hermanson family. Mr. Hermanson was my 6th grade teacher, and one of my favorites. The one thing I always remember about him, is we had a TV in our classroom, and we got to watch the Detroit Tigers in the world series.##imported-begin##Leslie Enell Robar##imported-end##
Through Muzzeloaders and as a 6th grade teacher, Mr. Hermanson was always a favorite! He was a wonderful, one-of-a-kind person and will be missed.

Mr. Hermanson was my 6th Grade teacher at Bunker Junior High in the mid 70's. He was a great teacher and that was the most fun year I ever had in school. I owe the ability to make change( no calculator or cash register needed) to this teacher---it wasn't on the "new math" lesson plan --however he realized it was a valuble life lesson that needed to be taught. We learned how to play Chess, how planes flew, and how to start a fire without a match (that was at 6th grade camp where his knowledge and abilities really shined). We had killer hand-ball games at recess and lunch and he played right along with us. We learned alot and with his quick wit we laughed alot. He left a lasting impression on me and God Bless his family.##imported-begin##Kim Burr (Penny)##imported-end##
