Robert P. "Bob" Cartier, Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Robert P. “Bob” Cartier, Jr., age 74, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Wednesday morning, February 15, 2006. He was born June 13, 1931 in Ludington, MI to Robert P. and Virginia (Sytek) Cartier, Sr. and resided in the Muskegon area since 1951. Mr. Cartier was a 1949 graduate of St. Simons Catholic High School in Ludington, MI. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran during the Korean War era. Mr. Cartier was the owner of Cartier Machine Tool and Equipment Company for 36 years. He was a member of the Vikings Lodge Linne’ 57, life member of the Muskegon Elks Lodge 274, member of the American Legion, Old Newsies, LST Association, Machinery Manufacturing Association, and a charter member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Mr. Cartier loved the water, and enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Silver Lake. On March 12, 1954, he married Virginia “Ginny” Minnerick in Muskegon, and she survives him along with 2 daughters, Mary Kay (Dan) Hoeker of Norton Shores, Michelle (George) Rudolph III of Grand Rapids; 6 grandchildren, Robert J. Marsala, Anthony M. Marsala, Patrick R. Marsala, G. Austin Rudolph, Kennedy C. Rudolph, Quentin M. Rudolph; brother, Richard (Gwen) Cartier of Holland; and 2 nephews. A MEMORIAL MASS will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church – Marian Chapel with the Rev. Fr. Thomas G. Simons presiding. Burial will take place in Pere Marquette Cemetery, Ludington, MI. VISITATION with the family will be from 6-8 PM Friday at
