Roger Allen Richmond, age 73, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024 in ICU at Trinity Health – Muskegon Campus. Roger was born on January 16,1951 in Durand, Michigan to Jackson Richmond and Audrey (Cassidy) Richmond. Roger was a very active child, and never slowed down through life! After graduating from Grand Blanc High School in Grand Blanc, MI, Roger attended the University of Michigan and Michigan State University; ultimately working at General Motors in the emissions and powertrain divisions. Roger married Lynne Morton in April of 1980. Together, in their free time, they enjoyed racing their catamaran on Michigan lakes, traveling in their motorhome, antiquing, and riding Roger's motorcycle with friends. In 1989, Roger had the unique opportunity to work at the GM Technical Center in Luxembourg. He and Lynne spent 3 years overseas; and capitalized on work vacations by visiting various European countries. Upon retiring in 2008, another relocation brought them to Spring Lake, Mi. to be near family and, as a bonus, sporting clays and golf courses! SURVIVORS include his wife, Lynne; sister, Carol (Robert) Blackmer; sister, Carla (Jerry) Schaft; brother, Todd Richmond, many nieces and nephews, and loving husky, Macy. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, James and Arlene Morton; and dog companions, Liddy and Lucy. The family wishes to thank Pastor Mary Ivanov and retired Rev. Mark Erbes of Lake Harbor UMC for their daily contacts, prayers and visits to Roger's hospital room. Deep appreciation, also, to the ICU staff at Trinity Mercy for their excellent care of Roger. Per Roger's wishes, his kidneys and liver were donated to the Gift of Life Program.
