Roger "Shoey" Susterich's Obituary
Mr. Roger “Shoey” Susterich, age 83, of Nunica passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020 at home following a long illness. He was born October 27, 1936 in Grand Haven to Steve and Ester (Haystead) Susterich. On May 28, 1966 he married Paula Sheneman in Lexington, Kentucky. Roger was a 1954 Grand Haven graduate, a 1959 graduate of Central Michigan University with his bachelors degree, and a 1967 graduate of Western Michigan with his masters degree.
Roger served his country in the US Army Reserves. He worked for Spring Lake Public Schools for 35 years and retired in 1994. He was an avid reader, enjoyed working out in his garden, playing golf and enjoyed owning vintage cars.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Paula; son, Roger Susterich, II; sister, Phila Bramer and her daughter, Courtney Bramer. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Steven Susterich in 2001; his parents, Steve and Ester; mother-in-law, Doris Sheneman.
