Ronald J. Posthumus' Obituary
Mr. Ronald J. Posthumus age 78, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016 surrounded by family and friends. He was born November 30, 1937 to Peter and Grace (Musk) Posthumus in Muskegon and had been a life resident of the area. Ron enjoyed bowling, and sharing his bowling expertise, sporting his vehicles at car shows, hunting, puzzles, casino trips, eating homemade ice-cream at Madison County Fair and watching his grandchildren play sports. On September 20, 1958 he married Janette K. Reed in Muskegon and she preceded him in death in 2005. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Terry (Jane) Posthumus of Spring Lake, Debra (Michael) Wilson of London, OH, Dianne (Terry) Gordon of Newaygo and JoAnne (John) Yates of Fruitport; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Charles (Joy) Posthumus and Roger (Sharon) Posthumus; 2 sisters, Joyce Jorgensen and Darlene (David) Anacker. Ron was also preceded in death by his parents. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Pastor John H. Brown officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 5-7PM Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in Fruitport Township Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to Harbor Hospice Foundation.
