Ronald Robert Richards' Obituary
“It’s All About the Journey, Kiddo”
Ronald “Ron” Richards, born in 1953, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, leaving behind a legacy rich in love, adventure, and unforgettable stories. A private man who placed his family above all else (Ron’s favorite saying internal to the family is “it’s all about the team, kiddo”), Ron lived his life with the philosophy that experiences far outweighed material possessions. He cherished the love, camaraderie, and tales woven from shared moments, often reminding his sons, “It’s all about the journey, kiddo.” Ron approached life as if it were a book in the making, ensuring no chapter lacked excitement.
From his early days as an aggressive, hard-driving young man with little patience, Ron evolved into a soft-spoken, well-lived grandfather whose repertoire of stories could captivate over a shared beer. He lived for those precious times spent with family, swapping tales, always with a smile and immense pride in the life he had built.
Ron’s passions reflected his zest for life: he loved snowmobiling through winter landscapes, skiing down slopes, playing tennis with vigor, and pursuing his dream of learning to sail. These pursuits were more than hobbies—they were avenues for creating the memories he held dear.
Ron is survived by his sisters, Debi Emmer and Susan Anderson; his brothers, Sheldon Richards and Michael Bailey; his sons, Justin Richards and Travis Richards; and three beautiful grandchildren, who were the light of his later years.
In honoring Ron’s spirit, we celebrate not an end, but the extraordinary journey he shared with those he loved.
