Something led me to look at the online edition of the Chronicle today, only to see news of Dr. Stuk's passing. He and Mrs. Stuk were such wonderful supporters of our swimming days in our youth. I never realize Ron was only one month older than I am. I do remember he was a big man with deep dimples and a great smile. The last time I saw him he was officiating a soccer game and our son was playing.

J It has been a long time since we have seen you. I remember we were in Philadelphia when you got married and Don and I came from there at the end of my school year of teaching first grade, and left early to attend your wedding.
We trust you have many good memories of happy famiy times. We pray you will feel God's comforting arms around you when the loss becomes a sudden reality at important and insignificant times that it catches you off guard.

I first knew of Ron when he came to Muskegon as he and his wife Bonnie were friends of my parents, Robert and Ruth Fles. I really got to know him when he hired me as a radiologist to join his group in 1983. Medical studies and residency teach one a tremendous amount in preparation for a medical practice, but there is much more to know about the realities of running a group practice. Ron was a master at this and I learned so much from him. I feel very fortunate to have worked for and with such a dedicated physician and solid christian man.
Also, his love for his family was very apparent in our day to day discussions. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He loved you all, and I am sorry for your (and our) loss.

Dr. Stuk was a really great guy, treated all his coworkers like gold. It was a pleasure to work with him in Mercy Radiology for many years. This loss will leave a big hole. To his family, I am so sorry for your loss.
