Ronald L. Stuk, M.D.'s Obituary
Ronald Lee Stuk, M.D. departed life on this Earth trusting in God’s promise of eternal life with Christ Jesus. Ron was born in Holland, MI on October 9, 1934 to Sidney and Jean (Berkhof) Stuk. He attended Grand Rapids Christian Schools, Calvin College, and received an MD degree with honors from Wayne State University in 1960. He followed with internship and residency in radiology at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. On June 12, 1958, he married the former Bonnie VanderArk and they spent 58 loving years together. They were blessed with three sons: Christopher (Cindy) Stuk, Timothy (Andrea) Stuk and Matthew (Sarah) Stuk and four precious granddaughters: Andi, Elli, Erin, and Norah Stuk. He began his career in Radiology with Mercy Hospital in 1964, and served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from 1966-68. He returned to Muskegon where he served as a Director of Radiology until his retirement in 2008. He was a dedicated physician and also enjoyed many and varied experience in life. Family activities were important to him. Sharing his sons’ interests led him to becoming a referee for high school and college soccer and also competitive swimming. Among his special interests were photography, hiking, running, sailboat racing, and skiing. He traveled extensively on six continents enjoying new experiences and God’s beautiful creation in many places. He was blessed by his membership to Forest Park Covenant Church through worship services and friendships made there. Surviving him in addition to his wife and sons are his brother, Warren (Ruth) Stuk and his children Michael and Jeffrey Stuk and Kathie Berens and sisters-in-law Karen (John) Wynbeek, Lynda (John) Witte and Patricia (Charles) Bond and many nieces and nephews. A VISITATION with Ron’s family will take place on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231-798-1100). A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at Forest Park Covenant Church (3815 Henry St.).
